About

About Siftr

One paper holds many findings. Siftr publishes them separately.

A research paper can carry multiple distinct contributions, each supported by its own evidence and bounded by its own conditions. Read as one document, they can collapse into a single takeaway. Summarised automatically, they can collapse further — and the evidence behind each one is often the first thing lost.

Siftr breaks papers into their individual insights and keeps each one attached to the evidence that supports it.

A Siftr is the smallest standalone, evidence-backed insight from a research paper — small enough to understand on its own, still connected to the study it came from.

Every published Siftr carries:

  • the insight, stated plainly
  • the supporting evidence and reasoning from the paper
  • why the finding matters
  • the exact location in the source: the section, the page, the table or figure

How Siftr works

AI reads eligible papers and proposes candidate insights. It cannot publish them.

A human reviewer opens the source, checks that the evidence says what the insight claims, records where it sits in the paper, considers the limitations, and then approves, revises or rejects. Reviewer and timestamp are part of the record.

Before publication, each paper's final set is tested against the source: whether the set represents the paper, whether the insights repeat one another, and whether each one adds something the others do not. The results guide the reviewer. They do not replace them.

AI helps sift the paper. A named human decides what is published.

What Siftr is not

Siftr is not a replacement for reading the research.

It does not treat the uploaded paper as the final product. What remains is the insight, its evidence trail, and a link back to the source.

Every Siftr sends you to the original study. That is the point, not a disclaimer.

Who it is for

Students citing evidence in a research project. Teachers setting source-evaluation work. Researchers scanning an unfamiliar field. Policy readers, journalists, and anyone who wants a route into academic research that keeps the evidence trail intact.

Our aim

To make research easier to find, understand, connect, question and use — one evidence-backed insight at a time.
